Café Bubu in Leipzig

I've never had a cup of coffee so bad in my life that it was gross and on top of that there was a flaw in my muffin

Totally disappointing! Too expensive, too long waiting, too unfriendly and really tasty, it is not ...

Our visit last weekend was unfortunately very unsatisfactory. Waited forever, extremely bad-tempered, unfriendly staff and we had hoped for a better quality of the food and drinks. In return, the prices were well received. When we were here shortly after it opened three years ago, everything was different and much better. It's a real shame when more customers automatically lead to more lack of desire and ambition.

Very tasty cake, but long waiting times!

Nice local but a 15-minute wait (in an almost empty café) for a simple order of a (good) cappuccino and a small, expensive and tasteless (literally) already on display piece of pie does not make for the best experience.

It was our first (and probably last) time to have breakfast in this café. We were very disappointed with the offer and the quality of the food ("thin" coffee, cheese platter with little and not particularly good cheese), as well as the service (unfriendly, inflexible). The price-performance ratio is not right here at all. It's a shame. You shouldn't be guided by the mostly great reviews on the net.

The coffee was too thin, there was still an egg from the previous guest on the spoon ... When I asked whether normal scrambled eggs would be possible, the only answer I received was: "There's what's on the menu." Oh yes, there was only one toilet for all guests. The prices are then based on the big names in the industry. For me never again. It is not understandable how this overall assessment comes about. Probably through various fake accounts?!?

I went to Cafe Bubu because it's one of few places in east of Leipzig, where gives vegan breakfast. I found only one plate for vegans which was ridiculous. When I order, I've waited for 50 minutes to receive the most uncreative vegan dish I've ever had. Low quality, not tasty components, which made me think "they've just tried to pretend they have something for vegans, which in reality it seems they have no idea and no intention to care about people with vegan diet". Nothing was freshly cooked or put any effort into, so I have no idea why a that vegan plate should made 50 minutes to be prepared and why should costed more than 7 euros! It even didn't give me any satisfaction feeling and felt hungry after. I was intended to try cakes after my breakfast, but after having it, I haven't even dared to try the cakes, for two reason; price and appearance. I've had very nice vegan cakes in other cafe's which looked more professional and tastier for similar price. Moreover, I didn't understand why they don't use barista version vegan milk for the coffee ( like Oatly or Alpiro) which costs almost double the price of bio cow milk, and instead use the cheapest version of vegan milk (that cost less than a euro) yet charged 0,40 euros more for that! How can be called to charge a person for the whole package of milk?! I would describe my experience as shocking! I have no idea why this cafe has gotten so many 5 start reviews everywhere? Have people lost their taste buds or no idea on how something should be prices and taste?! * I shared the plate with my vegetarian friend. This is the plate for 2!

We went to Café Bubu on Saturday and were unfortunately disappointed. The price / performance ratio of the breakfast is unfortunately not right and the staff was not particularly friendly. It's a shame.

I am here very often and one of my favorite places in Leipzig! I feel very good, it always tastes good even if you sometimes have to wait longer when it is full. That's understandable and time pressure is the last thing I bring with me when I go to such a relaxing place. I would love to come back! Thank you!

I can't explain how this cafe got so many good reviews. We waited 50 minutes for coffee and cake. When I asked twice where the things were, there was no excuse, let alone a quick deal, but only a musty one: "I only have two hands". In view of the mediocre quality and the outrageous prices, we are annoyed that we waited at all. No 10 horses will bring me here again.

Surprisingly unfriendly treatment by the staff, stupidly pampted, moderately full restaurant (outside area empty) and the sheer possibility of rain at some point (you don't get seat cushions!) Have apparently completely overwhelmed the counter lady mentally. Underground.

The service was super nice, despite the fact that the shop was really full, I got everything quickly! Gladly again!

Thanks, but never again! The waiting time until you get your drinks, let alone your food, is completely unclear to me. The dishes are bulky and the fruit has not been washed off. The table next to us was used to return dishes, only no service staff picked it up from there. To be fair, it was at least clean, but that was it with pluses.

We had a great celebration with a very tasty buffet! Everyone was very friendly and we were well looked after. Thank you!

Unfortunately, it didn't wait forever and it didn't taste good either. The prices are totally over it. 4 euros for a piece of cake that barely tasted. Every baking mix is ​​a better option. Will not pay a second visit here. Then prefer the ice cream parlor on the Riebeck. At least you get something for your money.

Super nice service. Own charm of the facility. Everything is lovingly prepared and the food was delicious. Can only be recommended, even if it is not cheap. The charm of the café makes you forget the price.

The Café Bubu is the nicest place in Reudnitz that I know, nicely decorated, a very nice alternative garden, with a young, friendly team, and delicious vegetarian / vegan food lovingly prepared. We would love to come back.

The cutest café in Reudnitz! The Bubu convinces with a very individual and charming interior. It's really cozy and you can see that it's a heart project. The food is inventive and homemade. The price-performance ratio is completely okay. Most of them are organic products. In addition, in summer you can use the wonderful patio with hammocks or other cozy niches. I have a very clear recommendation.

What an absolute gem of a find this place is. Fantastic coffee and plenty of vegan cake options which change regularly. The staff are superb and always make you feel incredibly welcome. A warm, inviting environment where you can spend hours curled up reading a book, enjoying the beautiful décor. They also have live music and readings which I will certainly have to check out some time! Can't recommend this cafe enough, thanks to the team for ensuring a fantastic experience always! :)

I was super exited to visit the place because of the numerous amount of high ratings. Okay so the setup is really amazing. Each table has its own lil ceiling hung lamp and it feels like a public living room. The setting is for everyone from one person to a group. Now coming to the food. To my astonishment I was served stale food. I ordered the day dish with spinach and bludger but it definitely smelt bad from the first bite itself. Unfortunately the chef did not acknowledge it and said "it is supposed to taste like that". I'm sorry but I have the olfactory sense to judge stale food. So I had to pay the entire food without consideration. I tried chai latte which was pretty good and also the server was nice. In conclusion go there for a drink or two and probably avoid ordering food especially before closing time. Save yourself the big money for tiny portions and get a kebap down the road. Sad but I had expected so much from this place. Good luck
